Hi everybody! What are you baking for christmas? We have a recipe here for you, our delicious saffron buns. It takes about 2 hours to make so make sure you're start in time. Here's what you have to do:
First, get the ingrediences:
50 grams of yeast
5 decilitre of milk
150 grams of butter
250 grams of kesella
2 decilitre of sugar
1 grams of saffron
1 teaspoon of salt
16 decilitre of flour, eventually a little more
raisins
1 egg + 1 tablespoon for painting on the saffron buns.
And then...:
1. Heat up butter and milk, it should be fingerwarm (37 degrees).
2. Crush the yeast in a big bowl. Poor in the hot milk in the bowl and mix it all together.
3. Mix up this with kesella, saffron, sugar and salt.
4. Mix up this with almost all the flour and work the dough flexible. Put in more flour if you need to.
5. Cover the dough with a cloth and let it rise for 60 minutes.
6. After that, lift up the dough to a floury table and work with it until it's flexible again.
7. Split the dough into approximately 30 pieces. Roll out the pieces to flat buns.
8. Afterwards spin the ends in two different directions and add the raisins on top.
9. Let the buns rise in 45 minutes.
10. Turn on the oven on 225 degrees and start to mix the egg with 1 tablespoon of milk and then paint the buns
with the mixture.
11. Put the buns in the oven for around 5-8 minutes until they're goldenbrown.
12. take out the buns and let them be for a couple of minutes until you swollow them all ;)
